Pedro has worked as a researcher in international organisations conducting studies on human rights, international cooperation and education. In 2014, he was a consultant for the National Truth Commission of Brazil, created to investigate human rights violations that occurred during the military dictatorship (1964-1985). Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as a visiting researcher at the Institute for Social Movement (Institute für soziale Bewegung) of the Ruhr Universität Bochum (Germany). He received the National Archive Award for the best dissertation on the History of the Military Dictatorship in 2018. This year, his first book will be published under the title: "The Invention of Enemies: History and Memory of the Dossiers and Counter Dossiers of the Brazilian Military Dictatorship (1964-2001)". He currently holds a postdoctoral position at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF-Rio de Janeiro). |
