Report | This PR.INT funded research stay was conducted at the Graduate Institute in Geneva under the guidance of Prof. Paola Gaeta, who leads a research project titled "Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems and War Crimes". The Graduate Institute is home to a large number of International Law Professors and PhD researchers. Geneva is home to a many NGOs as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross, and is the meeting place of the Convention on Conventional Weapons where a regulation of Autonomous Weapon Systems is being negotiated. The research stay allowed to connect with other PhD researchers working on related areas in International Criminal Law or International Humanitarian Law and Artificial Intelligence. I was also able to connect with practitioners working on autonomy in weapon systems, overall benefitting my PhD research. |
