Report In March 2021, as a Ph.D. Exchange student, I started my research project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ute Krämer, at the Chair of Molecular Genetics and Plant Physiology, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Ruhr University Bochum (NRW). My Ph.D. thesis focus is on the investigation of Nickel (Ni) xylem loading in the Iranian serpentine-endemic Ni hyperaccumulator plant, Alyssum inflatum.
I conducted several physiological, genetic, and molecular relevant experiments under the excellent supervision of Prof. Dr. Ute Krämer. During my visit, I enhanced my collaboration network with outstanding researchers in plant physiology and reinforced my scientific skills (learning new techniques in plant analysis, genetics and molecular cell biology). In addition to the mentioned achievements, I am writing a paper of interesting results obtained from the experiments conducted at RUB. In addition, the results of the genetic and molecular experiments conducted during my stay at RUB are very promising and have provided a new platform for a deeper understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanism of the histidine-dependent Ni accumulation phenomenon
Furthermore, these experiment's preliminary results have encouraged Prof. Dr. Ute Krämer and me to continue this scientific project as a future postdoctoral research project.
Moreover, during my stay, at the department and through my housing facilities, such as the RUB internationals guesthouse, I made new friends from different countries of the world. My personal and research experience in Germany was super positive and useful. I highly appreciate the financial, material, and spiritual resources that the Research School of Ruhr Bochum University has provided for my stay in Germany so that I could carry out the mentioned research projects. Also, I want to acknowledge through this format the incredible impact that this research institution scholarship has had on my scientific and research career.
