| Report | In November 2022 I participated in the 14th Field Workshop on Volcanic Gases which took place in Arequipa, Peru. The workshop offered an opportunity to carry out a wide range of scientific activities around the study of volcanic gases, including conference days with oral and poster presentations in Arequipa as well as field activities on the volcanoes Sabancaya and Ubinas. During my time in Peru I was able to delve deeper into specific topics related to volcanic gases and to learn more about different measurement techniques. Additionally, the pros and cons of direct sampling and remote sensing were discussed. Due to the funding by the Research School Plus I was able to be part of this very exciting field workshop, to make new contacts, and to obtain valuable experiences and knowledge helpful for my future career in academia. |
