Report |
I held a VIP grant from mid-2017 to mid-2019. This enabled me to make a series of visits to Bochum. The main purpose was to support the work of the PhD students Maike Gruchot and Falk Bannuscher, who were supervised by Prof Dr Gerhard Roehrle. They were working on topics related to reductive and pseudo-reductive algebraic groups, including the theory of G-complete reducibility. Both have successfully completed their PhDs. During my visits I also continued research with Roehrle, Dr Michael Bate (York) and Dr David Stewart (Newcastle). We studied the structure of pseudo-reductive algebraic groups and links with geometric invariant theory. We ran a Spring School on Complete Reducibility in April 2018 and a Summer School on Perspectives in Linear Algebraic Groups in August 2019. These were aimed at PhD students and postdocs. I'm very grateful to the Research School at the University of Bochum for their support. |
