Report From March 2023 to August 2023, I conducted fieldwork in Springfield, Missouri, specifically focusing on cowboy churches. During this time, I engaged in a range of activities that included:

Interviews: I conducted in-depth interviews with members of cowboy churches, pastors, and other key figures in the community. These interviews helped me gain insights into the beliefs, practices, and community dynamics of cowboy churches.

Participant Observations: I actively participated in the services and events at cowboy churches, observing and documenting the rituals, traditions, and interactions within the community. This provided me with a firsthand perspective on their practices and culture.

Document Analysis: I analyzed documents, including church literature, sermons, and newsletters, to supplement my research. This allowed me to examine the written and symbolic aspects of cowboy church culture.

Community Engagement: Being affiliated with the Missouri State University, I had the opportunity to engage with both academic and local communities. I established connections with local church leaders, scholars, and residents, which proved invaluable for my research.

Research Presentation: During my time at the university, I delivered a research presentation to share my findings and insights with the academic community. This presentation facilitated discussions and knowledge exchange among peers and faculty members.

In summary, my fieldwork in Springfield, Missouri, was a comprehensive research endeavor that involved interviews, participant observations, document analysis, community engagement, and knowledge sharing through academic presentations. These activities collectively contributed to a deeper understanding of cowboy churches and their unique culture.
