Report |
I developed a five-month field research in districts directly impacted by the implementation of logistic infrastructures comprising a development corridor. Thanks to a close collaboration with local researchers and organizations, I conducted over 40 in-depth interviews in about ten districts/localities, ranging from smallholder farmers and NGO workers to national survey institution personnel. I also collected ground data that will be used to complement data generated by remote sensing technologies. During my period in the field, I was invited to give masterclasses for graduate and post-graduate students at UniRovuma, a national Public university; I was interviewed by local radio and presented some of my results in online and in-presence activities with other doctoral students from Mozambique and Brazil. An article was written for a magazine of a German-Mozambican organization, and a chapter of a book regarding infrastructure in Africa was also developed during the stay. Another accomplishment is developing an animated video with local young artists, aiming to popularize science and denounce land inequalities by describing the narratives collected during the research. |
